By Doug Binder, DyeStat Editor

There were harrowing moments for the members of the Stanford track and field team on Friday afternoon in Seattle, according to a report on King 5 News

The good news is that everyone on the buse was safe and no one was hurt. The incident occurred about 2 p.m. Pacific. By 4 p.m., the Stanford contingent had arrived at Dempsey Indoor for the Washington Indoor Invitational.

The bus was carrying a second group of Stanford athletes to the meet. A first wave of Cardinal athletes had traveled to Seattle on Thursday.

The vehicle fire caused the northbound lanes of Interstate 5 to be closed.

Stanford senior and reigning NCAA women's javelin champion Mackenzie Little posted a video on the NCAA track and field Instagram page documenting the experience.
