Stanford's Chartered Bus Catches Fire On Seattle Freeway By Doug Binder, DyeStat Editor There were harrowing moments for the members of the Stanford track and field team on Friday afternoon in Seattle, according to a report on King 5 News. The good news is that everyone on the buse was safe and no one was hurt. The incident occurred about 2 p.m. Pacific. By 4 p.m., the Stanford contingent had arrived at Dempsey Indoor for the Washington Indoor Invitational. The bus was carrying a second group of Stanford athletes to the meet. A first wave of Cardinal athletes had traveled to Seattle on Thursday. The vehicle fire caused the northbound lanes of Interstate 5 to be closed. Stanford senior and reigning NCAA women's javelin champion Mackenzie Little posted a video on the NCAA track and field Instagram page documenting the experience. |
