Raevyn Rogers Will Make Her Pro Debut at The DempseyBy Adam Kopet Ken Goe of the Oregonian reports Raevyn Rogers will make her pro debut Jan. 26-27 at the Washington Indoor Invitational. Rogers has had a big last six months. She turned pro, giving up her final year of collegiate eligibility at the end of last summer. Last month, she won the Bowerman Award for being the top female college track and field athlete in 2017. Now, Rogers is adapting to life outside of the collegiate track and field scene. She has joined Derek Thompson's training group, based out of Philadelphia, but she has remained in Eugene to complete her art degree. In addition to racing in Seattle at the end of the month, Rogers plans to compete at the NYRR Millrose Games and the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix. |
